Back in the Saddle Again

It has been a few years since I’ve written a column for MaxSled and I have to admit, it is good to be back. Since Shane and I started MaxSled 11 years ago a lot has happened that my business and family priorities didn’t allow me to give the publication as much as I wanted to, so I asked my gracious partner for a leave of absence.  For those of you that don’t know Shane, he is one of the nicest people I know and the best partner a person could ask for.

Previewing the new 2012 models last month was my first official event since taking my leave of absence.  Although the main OEM contacts haven’t changed and most of the other publications have staff that hasn’t changed or aged a minute, it felt natural to get right back into it and I really appreciated all the open arms and welcoming back from everyone involved.

What did blow me away was the changes in the industry in such a short amount of time. From all four manufacturers, each one has continued to develop new technology and strive to be the best on the snow.  Each OEM has its strengths that they are building upon to provide the most pleasurable experience on snow ever. From what I saw last month, you will be blown away also for the changes in 2012. Do I have a favorite?  Check back in a few weeks to find out.

This column also introduces our new web design that Shane and I have been working on for the past few months. This new format allows for easier navigation and more timely articles throughout the season. Our new software is fully customizable so new features can be added easily will be continually introduced all year long to get your snowmobile fix no matter the weather outside.

You’ll be hearing a lot more from me in the future with many new articles, editorials and introducing new website features.  For those that have missed me (or haven’t),  I’m back for good and looking forward to writing more articles, getting on more miles than ever and of course, avoiding the saddle sores.
