The Minnesota Pink Ribbon Ride was held in Grand Rapids, Minnesota January 17th and 18th drawing over 100 participants who raised over $56,000. Pink Ribbon Riders is a 501c non-profit organization that gives money in the form of $500 Visa Gift Cards to breast cancer survivors who are going through treatments. Money raised in the state where their snowmobile rides are held, stays in that state.
Last year they gave over a million dollars to breast cancer survivors, and all of the money was raised by snowmobilers across the U.S. snow belt. MaxSled participated in its sixth year in the Minnesota run, leading a smaller “B-Cup” group on a 140 mile ride around the Grand Rapids area. Participants enjoyed a lunch sponsored by Hilltop Sports, the Polaris dealer in Hill City, Minnesota, and the Greenway Snowmobile Club in Calumet, Minnesota.
The run was held at Sugar Lake Lodge, south of Cohasset, Minnesota, where a Friday night reception and Saturday night banquet was enjoyed by the participants. Donated prizes were raffled off, special items were auctioned, and recognition to participants who raised money and cancer survivors were the highlights of the evening.
Our crew enjoys this event and we encourage you to check out a Pink Ribbon Ride near you. If you are not able to make an event, please donate what you can. Check them out at PinkRibbonRiders.com.
It truly is a great time. You’ll meet new snowmobilers and enjoy a great ride, all for a tremendous cause.
